Scout’s Honor

In memory of those furry friends who will forever live on

in our hearts.

My charitable fund started as a very informal fund that several clients had donated to in honor of their beloved fur babies. They knew some pet parents could not afford a peaceful ending at home for their babies and wanted to help make that happen for others. I always meant to make the fund a little more formal, but never seemed to find the time. And then I received a message from Scout’s mom. We had euthanized Scout about 1 year previously and in her message she told me about her journey of loss and how she was coping with her grief. She was donating funds in places where she believed the funds would honor Scout most. She called her personal mission, Scout’s Honor, and she had decided she wanted to donate to the charitable fund at Stepping Stone Veterinary Care. And so, Scout’s Honor at Stepping Stone Veterinary Care was created. Those who would like to give back by donating funds that other families can use to provide a peaceful ending for their own beloved, furry friend can donate to Scout’s Honor. Those who need a little extra help for their cherished baby can request funds. Going forward, I too will be honoring our precious fur babies by donating $5 from each appointment I see to Scout’s Honor.
